Strike a Pose...

Lets just say that Kendyl likes to pose...alot. Sometimes it scares us though as her poses seem to be a little on the provacative side. Lets just say we may have our hands full when she gets older. Well, at least her daddy will. Either way, I just wanted to share a few of these really cute, really funny, yet rather provacative poses of our precious 3 1/2 year old.

Our Little Gymnist

Kendyl has been enrolled in gymnastics since her 3rd birthday party was held at the gymnastics facility in September, 2008. She loved it and begged us to let her go to gymnastics. We were a little hesitant at first since we had her enrolled in ballet and tap at her request and to say the least, did NOT go so well. She like the tap part, but for the ballet lesson, she would rather lay down on the floor, run out the door, etc. But, honestly, I cant blame her, the ballet realm is just not in our blood (at least not in mine, and I can probably bet you 100% its not in Jason's either!) Anyway, so we gave it a shot and we were both shocked at how well she did, how much she loved it, and how well she focused throughout the entire hour. We didnt even recognize our child, you know, the "busy" one. She has kept that same interest throughout the year and finally the day came for her to show off all of her skills to everyone during "Mayfest", where they were able to show off all of the gymnastics they have learned and they get a trophy during an award ceremony at the end. The theme was jungle related (notice her new tiger leotard for the special occasion) and they started off with the typical stretching and then went into a dance they had all learned that was to the song from the Lion King movie where he sings "I'm gonna be a mighty king...." (sorry, I dont know the name of the song).

After they performed the dance, they moved on to different stations where they performed their skills on the balance beam, bars, trampoline, etc.

At the end, each child had their name called to come up and stand on stage and receive their trophy. She was so proud of her accomplishments and needless to say, we are VERY proud of our little gymnist too.

Kamryn loved watching her big sister during the entire performance and behaved very well. She is always mesmerized by whatever it is that Kendyl is doing and will always point at her and clap for her each time we are at gymnastics. It is so cute!

And who knows, maybe we have a future little gymnist / ballerina on our hands...
Although, we will definately have to work on her graceful-ness.

Going back a few months...Easter 2009

I have been so busy lately that I have failed to update this blog on a regular basis, so I am going to go back a few months and post some really cute pictures and updates to bring you all up to speed on life with the Burgess family. Lets start with Easter, which was a really great weekend where we spent Saturday doing the annual Easter egg hunt at our church in the neighborhood.

The kids had a great time and Kamryn loved looking at (rather than picking up) all of the colorful eggs. Her big sister was there to help her make sure her basket stayed full with eggs though.
When it was time for Kendyl's hunt she ran full speed with the other 3 and 4 year olds to gather as many eggs as possible and then fill up on lots of candy and cookies.
While we were there, the girls were able to visit the Easter bunny and sit on his lap, which as you can judge by the picture, Kendyl loved, and Kamryn did not. But atleast we do have the classic Easter bunny picture with one child screaming and the other looking at her as if she lost her mind.
We finished out the day at church with Kendyl getting her face painted and then coloring Easter eggs at home that night with Ju-Ju and Paw Paw.
The next morning the girls loved opening their Easter baskets and then it was off to church. They both did fairly well in church and Kendyl really loved all of the singing. She has continually asked to go back to church after that Sunday, which is great news! We have been talking more and more about Jesus lately and she is really beginning to understand more about who he is; however, she is extremely upset about Jesus not being a girl. She is in a boys are yucky stage so she wants Jesus to be a girl too, I guess. She was literally in tears one night as I read her the childrens bible and she saw a picture of Jesus in there and he was a boy. I felt bad for her and honestly, I wasnt even sure how to handle the situation, its not like I can fix that! Oh well, it was a great weekend...with an ongoing "problem" in her eyes. LOL!
